What I Wore.. Playing Dress Ups

Dress: Vintage/Thrifted Cardigan: Portmans
  Belt and Tights: Kmart
Shoes:  No! Shoes from Petrol Boutique

After finding so many sweet dresses out thrifting this week, well I just couldn't resist trying them on.  When I was little, my mother tells me I would change my outfit four or five times a day and she used to have tie the wardrobe door handles together to stop me getting into my clothes. Well it seems I still love to play dress ups just as much these days and couldn't wait to take one of my finds for a spin.  I just love the pattern on this dress and the shape is so classic I felt like I was ready to go dancing!

Do you still play dress ups? It's so much fun! You really must give it a try!
Much Love

  1. I love to dress up every morning! And when I'm bored, I make up outfits in my head :) Your outfit is perfect for autumn, and I was eyeing off that frock in yesterdays post! xxx

  2. I want to get a bicycle chain to lock my daughters wardrobe so they stop changing 5 times a day. I love your dress, I picked up a lovely vintage dress myself the other day. They make you feel so special :-)

  6. I realised recently that the reason I love vintage clothing (and aspire to run a vintage clothing business) is a lot like the reason I used to love playing dress up when I was little.

    Love the dress! x

  8. I do play dress up but for different reasons. Every weekend I try to find another combination of wearing my clothing. It's a great way to utilize your entire wardrobe and not get in a rut.

  10. Oh I still love dressing up. My friend Sam and I were bewailing the fact that pretty clothes seem to stop at age 10. I love the Japanese craze for the street fashion of dressing like dolls. When I was at University, a long time ago now, a friend asked me daily "what have you come as today?" I could give MarIa from the Sound of Music a real run for her money in terms of creativity with a pair of curtains!!
