From Where I Stand.. January

I decided in the last few days of December that I wanted a fun little challenge for myself this year.  Something I could do every day that was fast, easy and would give me a lovely reminder of each day 2012.  I contemplated quite a few different ideas that included, writing, artwork and photography but everything seemed too complicated, expensive or too easy to give up on. So I chose something that was fail proof for me... A daily photo of my shoes. Why would it work for me.. It's simple, I love shoes and very rarely wear the same pair two days in a row. It's been so fun already to look back over the month and check out what I've been up.  I can't wait to see how the year progresses.  Here's where I stood in January...

And my favourite..

From the 10th of January when I was in the front garden setting up photos for my perfect picnic.

Have you or are you doing a project for the year.. I'd love to hear about yours!

  1. What a great idea! I love shoes, too... but my storage space is seriously limited, so I don't have nearly as many as you do. I am taking one photo per day and posting them in weekly themed groups this year!

  2. Such a fun idea - I love it! I often find myself glimpsing at my shoes throughout the day, so I can definitely see the appeal of a year's worth of shoe photos. It will be fascinating to see what 365 days of shoes looks like.

My project for this year is photo books. I have literally thousands of photos from trips away with friends and I want to get them off my hard drive and onto my coffee table! This cleverly means I have a chance to indulge my growing passion for layout and magazine formatting as well. I can't lose!

Here's hoping we both have fun with our 2012 projects. :)

  4. This such a neat idea and your photographs (and shoe collection) are amazing!. I haven't quite found my niche for a daily project yet but I hadn't thought of photographs before. Hmmm, I'll have to think some more on this!

  11. I love these! At this time of year, mine would just be the same brown winter boots day after day, though.

For 2012, I have a list of different things to do each week ("eat something you've never tried before", "leave an old book in a public place" etc) which I'm documenting on my blog. I also have a happiness project running through February which I'm really excited about.
