At home in a book..

via Lola Thomasina

Is there a book that makes you feel at home? One that on a rainy day, you could curl up and crawl inside its pages. For me, it has always been The Secret Garden and when I'm feeling a little bit romantic.. Little Women. What about you?

Flea Market Finds..

Happy Flea Market Finds to you! Here we are again on a lovely Sunday. Mine has begun with some lovely blog browsing, toast and tea. Hope yours has been delightful too! Thanks so much to everyone who played along last week, wonderful finds by all! To check out those finds and ones from previous weeks, just pop over here.

So this week, I thought I might share with you my studio makeover, well not so much a makeover but a little shift around to fit in our new computer. I always love creating a new space and it was the perfect opportunity to make use of the second hand treasures I've been collecting.

Vintage books, jars, teapots, a little vase, sweet framed images and even old photographs have made their way into my little space. I just love the idea that everything has a story to tell.

So what have you found this week? To play along just leave a comment and add your flea market blog post link in the Linky below so we can all check out your goodies. Remember you can play any time during the week! And please feel free to upload your fabulous finds to the Flea Market Finds flickr pool too.

Happy Sunday!

A little sleep in, a good book a lovely pot of tea and some yummy new magazines to pour through and I'm one happy girl. Also on the list today, a spot of grocery shopping, a little search for some Christmas decorations and a quick stop for a few DVD's. Looking forward to a lovely relaxing weekend. What are your plans?

Here are are a few of my favourite links for the week..

Finally Flea Market Finds..

Happy belated Flea Market Finds! Finally my laptop is cooperating for long enough to post my finds from the weekend. I hope your second hand adventures were successful and full of delights. I just can't wait to see all your finds. To check out all the previous weeks pop over here.

My sweet little stash this weekend came from the ever impressive local Salvos which is proving to be one of the best op shops I have found for summer clothes and accessories.

I just love when you find enough bits and pieces to almost create a whole outfit. I think my favourite find is this very cute red handbag!

So what have you found this week? To play along just leave a comment and add your flea market blog post link in the Linky below so we can all check out your goodies. Flea Market Finds..

Happy Sunday and of course Flea Market Finds day! Sorry there were no finds last week, my hubby and I were flat out finishing the renovations to the main bedroom that we started some weeks ago and soon realised it was a much bigger job than we first anticipated. So feel free to add your finds from last week too, so we can check them out. As always to check out everyone's finds pop over here.

So this week, I've used some of my previous finds to decorate our bedroom. Inspired by the ever lovely Sibella Court, I've become fascinated with the idea of mixing all my finds into my home, perhaps making it into a museum of sorts.

My lovely vintage mannequin now has a perfect corner, adorned with a sweet old leather box brownie case, some vintage ribbon and a brooch by the lovely Sparrow Salvage.

My dressing table, with one of my favourite books that belonged to my great aunt, Royal Albert tea cup (perfect place for earrings) and a little collection of bottles.

Photos of the rest of the room to come, once I find a few finishing touches.

So what have you found this week? To play along just leave a comment and add your flea market blog post link in the Linky below so we can all check out your goodies. Remember you can play any time during the week! And please feel free to upload your fabulous finds to the Flea Market Finds flickr pool too.

Have a beautiful day!

Happy Weekend!

It's the most perfect rainy weekend here.. ideal for tea drinking, reading and sleeping in. Which is exactly what I feel like doing after spending an amazing week away in the wilderness. The highlight was definitely rock climbing at Mt. Arapiles, what an adrenalin rush! I must say though, getting home to a hot shower and a comfortable bed was very lovely indeed.

Well I'm off to pop the kettle on and curl up for the afternoon with the gorgeous Inside Out Christmas issue. What are your weekend plans?

An extra long weekend...

I love a long weekend and this one, thanks to a certain horse race has been extra long and just what I needed. I've immersed myself in books and blogs, journals and notebooks, reading, scribbling and dreaming up ideas.

I've been working my way back through my old journals, almost like taking a trip back in time, meeting myself years ago.. I've been laughing at all my winging and taking notes of some nice moments which I will be using for an upcoming project.

On my outing yesterday for coffee and stationery supplies (for upcoming project) I was delighted to stumble upon a gorgeous new shop which had only just opened in town, called Fine and Sunny. What a breath of fresh air! The girls were just fabulous and they are stocking so many lovely things, I just wanted to stay for the whole afternoon.

I left with a copy of the sweet Frankie Diary and the most lovely polka dot tape and I will be back very soon for many more bits and pieces. If you are in Mildura make sure you pop in and say hi to the girls and check out all the loveliness.

I hope you are having a lovely day. I best go pop on a pretty hat and stop to watch the Melbourne Cup.
