Flea Market Finds..

Happy Sunday! What a lovely day for Flea Market Finds! I did indeed miss all your lovely finds last week and can't wait to see what you have found in your lovely travels.

Unfortunately my life has been so busy the last few weeks I have not had the chance to do much op shopping, except for my on going search for Grease costumes, so I thought I would share with you today, my very favourite flea market dress find.

I found this fabulous little dress a few years ago at a flea market at Swingin' Safari on the Gold Coast. I just love the sweet little retro pattern. I couldn't resist wearing it to take a photo of my new tattoo I got yesterday in Adelaide.

So what delights have you found this week? To play along just leave a comment and add your flea market blog post link (not just your blog link) in the Linky below so we can all check out your goodies. Remember you can play any time during the week! And please feel free to upload your fabulous finds to the Flea Market Finds flickr pool too.

Happy Sunday!

What a week!

Wow it has been over a week since my last post! I feel a little bit like I have fallen off the face of the blogging world. But never fear, I am still around, it has just been one GIANT week!
In the last seven days I:

Turned 26!
Had an amazing birthday with many surprises including,
An amazing visit from my beautiful mum and sister
and meeting the lovely Ash Grunwald!
And to top it off I had my first solo exhibition 'To Autumn' as part of Poetic Licence at the wonderful Mildura Writers' Festival

My exhibition - 'To Autumn'

To top it all off we are officially one month out from the opening night of Grease. It is all so exciting and yes, very chaotic too! So over the next few weeks my posts will be a little sporadic but I do hope you will continue with me on my crazy journey. I do apologise for the lack of Flea Market Finds last Sunday, but it will be back this week and I can't wait to see all your finds!

In the mean time, I hope you are having a beautiful and creative week!

Flea Market Finds..

Happy Flea Market Finds day! It is just the most beautiful winter's day in my part of the world, I hope it is lovely where you are too. How has your week been, have you had a chance to do a little op shop hopping? Or perhaps even a dash through a garage sale or two. To check out all the delights from last week, pop over here.

This week I got lucky, really lucky. I'm still on the search for Grease props, specifically a little portable record player from the 1950's. I didn't even really know what one looked like, let alone thought I would be able to find one. But thanks to the ever astonishing tip shop Around Again, I actually stumbled upon a vintage HMV portable record player.

How sweet is it! It's just perfect and will make a nice addition to my growing collection of vintage gadgets after the musical.

So what delights have you found this week? Introducing...

Jack..

We rescued Jack from the pound yesterday after he was surrendered by his previous owners. He is a five year old terrier and he is just the sweetest little dog. He has already right at home and is learning the ropes from Olive.

Hope you have enjoyed a beautiful Saturday!

My Creative Space..

Some days it is just so lovely to get back to basics, grab a fabulous friend and share in a some inspiring music, great conversation, delightful creating and of course a little red wine.

This week, amongst my the chaos of marking and production preparations, I took a little time out with my dear friend and talented artist Josh to chat, create and collaborate on some altered journals for the local Writers' Festival. We even had a little help from his beautiful kitten Neko.

Flea Market Finds..

My goodness! Flea Market Finds comes to you late indeed today! It seems my Sunday was very busy indeed. Today included a trip to the local Antique Fair with my favourite Flea Market friend, a delightful first birthday party, listening to some great local talent at the Sandbar, playing Poi in the front yard and now finally watching one of my favourite childhood films, The Karate Kid. I hope your Sunday was as lovely as mine and full of fabulous finds. To check out last weeks delights, pop over here.

The antiques fair today was just amazing and filled with so many beautiful things, I didn't know where to start. I found a few sweet little things amongst the gorgeous furniture, clothing and ephemera.

A very sweet 1970's Kodak Instant Camera

And another lovely vintage typewriter ribbon tin, which brings my total to three, I think that means I have a new collection. My lovely hubby is happy because this one is smaller and a little easier to store then typewriters.

So what delights have you found this week? To play along just leave a comment and add your flea market blog post link (not just your blog link) in the Linky below so we can all check out your goodies. Remember you can play any time during the week! And please feel free to upload your fabulous finds to the Flea Market Finds flickr pool too.

I hope you have had a lovely Sunday too!

My Creative Space..

This week my creative space feels a little like that film, 27 Dresses... I am surrounded by costumes for Grease and everywhere I look another prom dress appears, each one just perfect for the production.

Op shop dresses - perfect for the Grease Prom

And what would be a dress without a corsage.. for those of you who have seen the musical, the prom's theme is 'Moonlight in the Tropics' so with my trusty hot glue gun and a stack of fake flowers, I set to work creating some 'colourful' corsages.

Corsages for the Prom scene

With only seven weeks to go and much much work to do, its going to be a busy few months ahead. I'm so glad you could join me on this fabulous adventure.
