My Cubby House..

Today was just one of those days where I felt eight years old again, and there were adventures to be had.. Inspired by the ever delightful Color Me Katie I spent the afternoon rearranging my dining room using some dining chairs, fabric, tablecloths and my op shopped ladder into a wee cubby house to spend the afternoon pottering in.

My little second hand cubby house..

The essentials.. a blanket, books and tea

Paper heart decorations

Rainbow button wall art.. how it makes me smile, I would love to fill the entire wall.

The perfect place to spend the afternoon.

I hope your Sunday has been lovely indeed!
Much Love

  1. Hee hee... I haven't seen a dining table cubby since I was a little kid. The kiddies don't seem to make them these days?

  2. Too funny! Love what you've done there. I must say when my boys create a cubby with sheets, blankets & pillows under our dining table I always love to visit, it takes me back to childhood!!

  3. My kids love making Blanket forts and cubbies. Usually a bit squeezy and low slung for my liking.
    LOVE your button mosaic.

  4. Oh I love this! I used to do this when I was little, although it was nowhere near as pretty. My friends mum who worked in textiles made her a custom cubby over a hills hoist with scrap fabrics, that would have been amazing. x

  5. I always used to make table cubbies, it used to drive my mum mad! I did seem to do it whenever she'd just set the table or put on a fresh cloth, so maybe in hindsight I'll let her off on that one! I used to sit with our puppy while he took naps and rub his ears(he was a golden labrador, and when he was small his fur was peach coloured-he was lovely). I used to wake him up all the time though because I just wanted to play with him all the time. When he got bigger he used to tire me out so he got his own back in the end. Sorry for the long wander down memory lane!

  11. I love making giant "forks" with Aurora :) It is very soothing to be curled up in a covering watching movies with teddy bear snuggles and things.

  13. Great fort! Kids love to make their own cubbies, not buy them ready-made from toy shops...all the fun is in creating your own space ...
